ABR / ModSpace Motorsports enjoys successful winter test at Daytona Daytona Beach, FL – 12/21/2009 - The Andy Belmont Racing team traveled to the Mecca of Motorsports, Daytona International Speedway, this past weekend to attend the winter testing in preparation of the 2010 ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards. ABR’s testing featured the #1 ModSpace Motorsports Ford Fusion with ARCA rookie driver Nick Igdalsky. “We came to the test with specific goals and accomplished them all. We know we have a couple of good cars for the race,” said Andy Belmont, owner. “It will be great working with Nick.” Belmont went on to say, “Our driving experience in all levels of racing from dirt to Daytona has helped us with our coaching abilities.” ABR has a long relationship with the ARCA series and is known for its successful ability to develop drivers and crewmembers into positions for NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide series teams. New driver, Nick Igdalsky, was taking his first laps around Daytona in an ARCA car this weekend, but this was not the accomplished road racer’s first ride at Daytona. Earlier in 2009, Igdalsky competed at Daytona in the Grand-Am Series, racing with cousin and ARCA regular Chase Mattioli. “There is little comparison between 165 in the Grand Am car and 185 in the #1ModSpace Ford! I knew where the bumps were on the track, but that's about all it helped. We were good right off the truck and the entire ABR team has the confidence and ability to be a contender in 2010!” said Igdalsky, when asked if his Grand Am experience had any effect on preparing him to drive an ARCA car at Daytona. In two years of open wheel racing, Igdalsky compiled nine wins and 14 top-three finishes in 20 starts in the Bertil Roos F2000 Pro Series. This puts Igdalsky in the 7th position on the all time win list for the series. Based on this weekend of testing, confidence is high for a winning 2010 season for the ABR team and the#1 ModSpace Motorsports entry.
